Speciality of Sharad Poornima

Sharad Poornima or Sharath Purnima is the full moon day in the month of October and is closely associated with Lord Krishna and Radha and Gopis. According to Srimad Bhagvad Purana, the famous Raas Lila of Lord Krishna with Radha and Gopis took place on the night of Sharad Poornima. In 2009, date of Sharad Poornima is October 3.
As per the hindu tradition, on this day moon rays are very cool and It is also said that the moon is close to the earth on the day. Due to this the rays of the moon has several curative properties.
In some regions, people are preparing puffed rice, and kheer, sweet and left in the moonlight and is consumed later. Next day morning specially girls waking up early, takimg bath doing pooja and exting that extable which they kept in the night outside. As per the hindu myth if people will eat that eatable which they kept in the night moon then there beauty will increase.
